Papa is the bravest buccaneer, who helps this small lad dress like a pirate and allows him to participate in all their swashbuckling adventures. These include setting sail, reading maps, going aloft, finding treasure, eating, and saying goodnight.

Each verse rhymes and highlights some aspect of pirate life, albeit tame and simplistic compared to reality. This in no way detracts from the telling, and as you read this book, a mystical web weaves itself around you until a smile forms on your lips by story’s end. The colorful illustrations bring their escapades to life and will delight and surprise readers, for they contain treasures of their own. Children will cherish I Love My Pirate Papa just as parents cherish their children.
